Lou Dobbs Tonight
Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Tonight, we’ll have the latest from the campaign trail as the
candidates spar over the economy, complete coverage of the
movement in the House of Representatives on the Merida
initiative to fight cartel violence in Mexico and all the day’s
news. Plus:

* If outrageous airfares and travel hassles don’t keep you from
flying this summer, maybe this will: Many airlines are
outsourcing key aircraft maintenance to foreign countries with
lax inspection rules and zero FAA oversight. Two senators have
introduced legislation to curtail this dangerous practice.

* A foreign hedge fund, the Children’s Investment Fund, is
trying to take control of CSX railroad which services sensitive
sites such as nuclear and military facilities. The fund has a
reputation for hostile takeovers, aggressive restructuring, and
refusing to divulge its investors, which could include hostile
foreign governments. Today the New York Times criticized Lou
Dobbs for questioning the deal.

* Restaurants and grocers are pulling tomatoes from their menus
and shelves due to a massive salmonella outbreak, which the
bumbling Food and Drug Administration has no idea how to trace
or pinpoint. The situation has left this country’s tomato
industry on the verge of collapse.

* California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a drought in
his state for the first time since 1991. The state is facing
its driest season in 88 years and residents have been advised
to conserve and ration water. Is the West running out of water?

race for the presidency enters its next phase. Former Assistant
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Cassidy joins Lou to tell us
why we should all have strong reservations about so-called free
trade. We’ll be discussing the GI Bill and what we can do for
our brave men and women in uniform. And Lou will be taking your
calls at 877-55-DOBBS.
