American Hispanics Oppose Illegal Alien March Planned for Chicago

You Don't Speak for Me!, a National Coalition of American Hispanics, Speaks
Out Against Illegal Alien Demands for Amnesty

CHICAGO, March 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On March 10, American
citizens will once again witness the spectacle of hundreds of thousands of
lawbreakers taking to the streets of Chicago and other cities, demanding to
be rewarded for their actions. This year's planned demonstrations are
likely to be more public relations savvy, with protestors waving American
instead of foreign flags, but their goals remain the same: blanket amnesty
for millions of people who have broken U.S. laws, compromised the security
of the United States, and taken jobs from American workers.

Once again, organizers of the protests will attempt to portray the
demands of the illegal aliens as the agenda of all Americans of Hispanic
descent. "Nothing could be farther from truth," stated Rosanna Pulido,
Illinois spokesperson for You Don't Speak for Me! (YDSFM). "You don't
simply show up here uninvited and declare 'We are Americans,' and demand
citizenship. The fact that the vast majority of the illegal aliens in this
country are Hispanic does not make an illegal alien amnesty a 'Hispanic
issue.' American Hispanics are, first and foremost, Americans who believe
in the rule of law and the obligation of the nation to protect the
interests of its citizens and the national security."

YDSFM was formed last spring in reaction to massive illegal alien
protests and boycotts, and the media's portrayal of illegal aliens speaking
on behalf of all Hispanics in the United States. "The brazen attempt by the
illegal alien advocacy network to strong-arm concessions from the American
public aroused millions of Americans of all racial and ethnic backgrounds
to voice their opposition to amnesty and their support for meaningful
immigration enforcement," Pulido continued. "The more Americans are
confronted with the shrill and outrageous demands of people who are in the
country illegally, taking jobs from and lowering the wages of Americans,
taking advantage of public services and benefits, the firmer they become in
their belief that our nation's immigration laws must be enforced."
