I don't doubt this at all.

My grandson, 5th grade, was showing me his math test and as I looked it over, I saw it had 4 written problems. Some call them story problems, etc.

Of the four written problems, they started--

1).Pancho had 4 apples -------

2.) Alicia had 3 (somethings)-------

3.) Mrs. Garza had 2 ----------

4.) Mrs. Medina had 4 ---------

Now Alicia could be Anglo or HIspanic - but 3 out of 4 of the written problems on this test in American schools had Hispanic names used.

Think this was just a coincidence?


I saw a commercial on TV about some language program that teaches young children to speak another language.

It listed the languages a child could learn from this program -

French
Spanish
German
Something
Something
Someting
English (ESL)

The commercial went on to call English - as 'English as a Second Language'. No other language was described as a second language - only English.

Why? To make English seem insignificant - or that one should know English as a 'second language' only?
