Feds: Illegal alien and buddy jacked bird

FLORENCE TWP. — Two bird-nappers were nabbed by police in the woods on Abrams Drive and charged with trapping finches to send to Brazil. One suspect is being deported as an illegal alien.

At 11:28 p.m. last Saturday night (May 16), Florence police received a mysterious call from a citizen reporting that two men parked a vehicle on Abrams and walked back into the woods carrying a large trash bag full of ... something.

At the scene, the caller pointed out the vehicle to police, who checked it out, then spotted the two suspects emerging from the woods behind a nearby house, police reported.

Cops said they questioned the suspects about their presence in the area and asked them about the trash bag, which they no longer had in their possession.
