Indicted Illegal Alien Had Been Deported But Came Back To U.S.

The United States Government formally indicted a pair of illegal aliens from Mexico for stealing thousands of dollars from at least one local business.

Sergio Armando Cedano and Jose Ramon Sanchez, both currently in jail in Fincastle, are charged with breaking in to Blue Ridge area business in Botetourt County.

While inside they took payroll checks then cashed those checks at several local banks using fake identification information.

The indictment alleges the men pretended to be cashing paychecks from the business where they stole the checks.

Federal investigators traced the crime to October of 2003.

Court records show the men cashed checks for amounts up to $876.

The indictment also alleges the men were part of an integral criminal ring.

The proceeds were split between lower level participants in the ring, or "cell," with the majority of the money kicked up to the cell's leader according to the indictment.
