Immigrant faces two rape charges

By Cass Rains

A 19-year-old man was arraigned Thursday on two counts of rape and obstructing an officer.

Alan Pascual Olvera, who spoke through an interpreter during his arraignment, was charged with two counts of second-degree rape and a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer.

According to the charges, Olvera is accused of sleeping with his 14-year-old girlfriend on or about June 12 and on or about July 5. He also is accused of providing false information to an Enid Police Department officer investigating a crime.

According to an affidavit, police were contacted by the mother of a 14-year-old girl who said when she went to check on her daughter she found her lying in bed with an unknown man.

When police spoke with the girl she said the man was her boyfriend, who she believed was 16 years old, the affidavit states.

When police spoke with Olvera, he said he did not know his date of birth or his address but said he was 16 years old, according to the affidavit. Police found an ID in Olvera’s pocket with a date of birth of May 10, 1990, according to an affidavit.

The girl said she met Olvera through a friend and had slept with him twice and both times it was consensual, according to the affidavit.

When police interviewed Olvera he did not give a reason for telling the girl he was 16, according to an affidavit. Olvera told police he had slept with the girl on two occasion, and on both occasions the sex was consensual.

During his arraignment, Olvera told the judge he did not have a Social Security number. There also is an Immigration and Customs Enforcement order to hold Olvera in detention.

His bond on the rape charges was set at $100,000 and $5,000 on the misdemeanor charge. He was ordered to return to court Aug. 17 for a bond appearance.
