Does anyone know what to do? My name is on the Hazelton list

My name will be on this list. It doesn't say the paper won't release address or phone numbers. I am really upset about this. I don't want that kind of information published. Why didn't they contact the doners to let them know what is going on? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hazleton settles TL suit
Paper will get Illegal Immigration Relief Act defense fund names.
    By Steve Mocarsky smocarsky@timesleader.com
    Staff Writer

HAZLETON – City officials have agreed to turn over financial records The Times Leader requested more than 15 months ago as part of a settlement agreement that ends a lawsuit the newspaper filed against the city in 2006.

The newspaper in October 2006 requested to review receipts and expenditures to and from the city’s Illegal Immigration Relief Act Defense Fund – an account set up to accept public contributions to defray the cost of a lawsuit filed against the city by Relief Act opponents.

The city provided an account of expenditures and a list of the donation amount and hometown of each donor but refused to provide the names of the donors.

The newspaper notified the city it was violating the state Right to Know Law, but the city refused to budge from its position that the name of a donor was personal information exempt from the law and that releasing donors’ names could cause them harm.

The newspaper sued the city in Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas that December.

In the settlement reached Monday, the city agreed to provide the names, addresses and contribution amounts of all donors to the fund as well as the names and addresses of all recipients of any money paid from the fund.

The Times Leader agreed not to record or publish the Social Security, bank account, credit card or personal identification numbers of any donor or payee.

“We feel the public has the right to know the names of people who contributed to the … fund because the account is controlled by the city and municipal accounts are public,â€

I wouldn't get too excited about it. The newspaper was probably more interested in who payments were being made to. In some intervews, Mayor Barlettea has noted how much has been spent from the fund and as you can imagine it has gone to some of the lawyers assisting him. Some of the lawyers are also working for free. As I understand, Chris Kobach is being paid as he comes from St. Louis but he has said that if there were no $ in the fund, he'd also work for free. I think someone can help me and vouch for that comment.
This newspaper is a local crap liberal rag looking for anything they can get to make a story. There is a 2nd newspaper in town that they are always in hot competition with. I thoroughly doubt that they would waste the paper listing all the donors and their addresses. Who'd be interested?
Though, if you want to donate to different causes like this, go to your local mini-market and get a money order. They are .59 and there is a place to write your name in. It doesn't matter, pick a name! I bet "Mickey Mouse" donates quite a bit!

OH I LIKE THE MONEY ORDER SUGGESTION. IT COULD BE FROM ANYONE. A FAMOUS HISTORICAL PERSON. IT COULD BE FROM ABE LINCOLN OR BEN FRANKLIN....HE HE. OR IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CAUSE SOME HOOPLA....MAKE IT FROM JANET MURGUIA TO SOME ANTI ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CAUSE.

Yeah, really good idea.....and redpony353, I like the way you think!

Janet would be perfect, as well as her cronies making donations.
