Barbie knockoffs among toys seized at border

SAN DIEGO — Thousands of counterfeit toys worth nearly $1.6 million were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents before they were distributed in the United States, officials said Thursday.

In October and November, agents found 2,520 counterfeit Barbie dolls inside dozens of boxes that were shipped to San Diego.

Also in October, agents at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry found 3,100 battery-operated toy vehicles designed for children to drive with the “Jeepâ€
