Pelosi event gets ambushed by Dreamers (video)

September 18, 2017

Protesters interrupted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) press conference in San Francisco on Monday, as stated in NTK Network. Pelosi and other congressional representatives came together to push for the immediate passage of the DREAM Act. This is legislation that would protect young immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children or by parents who overstayed visas. The protesters were objecting to her negotiation efforts with President Trump.

The DREAM Act (an acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) is a legislative proposal for undocumented immigrants in the United States that first grants conditional residency and then permanent residency once further qualifications have been met. Young immigrants who protested recent conversations with President Donald Trump on immigration policy were quickly shouted down. Radicals also jumped up to yell at Pelosi for her negotiations with Trump over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Organizers attempted to silence the protesters, but the demonstrators screamed over the officials.

President Trump recently announced plans to halt a program that would give them temporary legal status and has held meetings with Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer to discuss renewing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and increasing border security. Democrats say a deal has been reached, but it is denied by the White House.

The group started a very chaotic protest inside the building where the news conference was being held. Reported by ABC 7 News: “They walked in shouting, ‘Undocumented and unafraid,
we are the immigrant immigration movement.’ The Democratic leader was barely able to speak over the demonstrators but did get express, ‘What I interpret from what you are saying is that you do not want us to proceed with the DREAM Act because it is not comprehensive immigration reform. We all are fighting for comprehensive immigration reform. We have said to everyone — be very careful, report to us any deportations because they are telling us they are not happening. And wait a minute, wait a minute…’ Pelosi stood behind the protesters, unable to stop the disruption.”
