11 charged in check scam

Eleven members of an alleged Mexican gang, including nine illegal aliens, have been charged with defrauding a bank in southwest Virginia of more than $40,000. The group used fake ID's made with cell phone pictures here and possibly seven other states. Yesterday, federal indictments were announced against the group who are also charged in a Botetourt County break-in where several payroll checks were taken. The investigation was dubbed "Operation Snapshot," and discovered the group bilked banks around the country of nearly $50 million dollars.
