Picture Is Worth 1000 Words

The Feet To the Fire rally held April 22, 2007 was an event
organized by anti-immigration activists to demonstrate America's
desire for a tough stance against immigration reform. According
to the Federation For American Immigration Reform, the rally
"drew people from around the world demanding action to secure US
borders, enforce its laws and make English its official
language." A photo

taken of the event by a demonstrator shows about a hundred
protesters, a far cry from the immigrant marches that were
attended by hundreds of thousands. Based on this picture, the
anti-immigrationists's position that their anti-immigration views
are widely held by the American public, is on shaky ground,
proving the old adage: a picture is worth a thousand words. The
anti-immigrationists are vocal to be sure and certainly make
their presence felt in American polity. However, as this much
ballyhooed event shows, they are in a tiny minority. Congress
will be acting for the vast majority of Americans in ignoring the
anti-immigrationists and enacting CIR.
