Challengers appealing ruling upholding sanctions law

    Associated Press - February 8, 2008 6:34 PM ET

PHOENIX (AP) - Critics of Arizona's new employer sanctions law are filing expected appeals of a judge's ruling that upholds the measure to punish employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Business and minority advocacy groups on Friday filed separate notices of appeal in response to the ruling issued late Thursday by U.S. District Judge Neal Wake.

The appeals will be submitted to San Francisco-based U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The sanctions law sets up a process for violators to have their business licenses suspended or revoked.

The law took effect Jan. 1 but county prosecutors agreed as part of the legal fight over the law's constitutionality to not to go to court before March 1 to seek action on complaints against violators.

This is what is so wrong with things

They just file case after case until they get a symp judge
and then the laws go on hold for years

How many rulings has Wake made on this case now 3?, 4?

Now it will go to the symp 9th who probably will say they can't
enforce the law until they look at it , no matter how long
    that will take
