Sen. Cornyn on "Immigration Reform" (amnesty)

The following is from Politico and it's Sen. Cornyn's 2010 public policy wish list and criticisms of Obama. I've excerpted just the part where he mentions "immigration reform."

Please call Cornyn (202-224- 2934) and urge him to oppose Schumer's "comprehensive" amnesty scheme.

Immigration reform should make it easier for businesses to hire legally and for our economy to retain highly skilled workers. Obama must lead on immigration by offering specific proposals to secure our borders, upholding the rule of law and treating illegal immigrants with justice and compassion.

Doesn't sound good, I know lots of "highly skilled" Americans who have moved overseas to get a job. And as soon as they say "compassion", hold on to your behind.

Unfortunately, through their legal advocates, they often end up thwarting Progress. That certainly happened with the farmworkers and their advocacy groups. I know one of the big cases was not actually illegal immigrants ( it was a UFW case) but it had the same effect. Objections to "racial profiling" is another example.
