EUGENE, Ore. -- Loaded handguns, body armor, $9,500 in cash, a stash of cocaine and methamphetamine, and a man wanted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement: State police stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe north of Eugene Tuesday afternoon for a speed violation and found more than a lead foot.

Troopers took Juan Francisco Jimenez Jr., 34, and Alenia Rosario Nunez, 26, of Los Angeles, Calif., into custody on a number of charges.

Jimenez Jr. was also being sought by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An Oregon State Police trooper stopped the Tahoe with California plates at 2:35 p.m. southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 200 for a speed violation.

State police say subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery in the vehicle of:

Approximately 14 grams of cocaine
Approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine
Two loaded handguns, one of which was confirmed as stolen in the Los Angeles area
One set of body armor
Approximately $9,500 cash




Both Jimenez and Nunez were taken into custody and lodged in the Lane County Jail on the following charges:

Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Felon in Possession of Body Armor

A hold is also placed on this individual by Immigration and Customs Enforcement
Alenia Rosario Nunez

Carrying a Concealed Weapon
