A Leawood mother and her two daughters face fraud-related federal charges following their arrests last week in connection with practices involving an Olathe business.

Doris Toledo, 67, and daughters Sonia Toledo, 38, and Sylvia Toledo, 42, each face 11 felony counts of computer fraud, 11 felony counts of making a false writing and one count of felony theft in Johnson County.

Their allegedly fraudulent mortgage loans totaled $7.7 million and generated about $128,000 in loan origination fees and $228,000 in real estate commissions, the state alleges.

The indictments also allege the Toledos guided illegal immigrants to use false documents to get Social Security numbers needed to obtain loans to buy houses.

The Customs Enforcement office of Investigations, Kansas City, Mo., will go on combatting such document fraud, Sheila M. O'Neill said. She is the assistant special agent in charge of the Immigration and Customs En-forcement Office of Investiga-tions.
