Border Patrol agents found 50 pounds of marijuana in a car and the suspect fled from the car into a field.

It happened this afternoon as the Border Patrol approached a vehicle off Oklahoma and Medford in Brownsville. The suspect got out of his car and field while Border Patrol agents were pursuing the suspect. Drug sniffing dogs were brought in to search the vehicle and they were able to find the drugs and captured the suspect. He was handed over to Brownsville police and DEA took over the investigation.

It is not known if anyone else was in the car, or if the suspect is an undocumented alien.
