U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION OFFICERS WORKING AT AREA PORTS OF ENTRY SEIZE LARGE AMOUNT OF NARCOTICS, CURRENCY, ALIENS, AND AGRICULTURAL ITEMS IN FY 2007

EL PASO, Texas -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in El Paso, West Texas and New Mexico seized a significant amount of narcotics, currency, false documents, arrested aliens and uncovered numerous agricultural violations during fiscal year 2007. Fiscal year 2007 began October 1, 2006 and ended September 30, 2007.

In FY 2007, CBP Officers at six area ports of entry seized (10 total crossing points) a total of 203,613 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, and heroin. In FY 2006, CBP officers in El Paso, West Texas and New Mexico confiscated 129,227 pounds of narcotics.
