DISGRUNTLED LETTERS FROM AMERICANS ON IMMIGRATION

My husband and I are senior citizens. We lived in a small town in Illinois that welcomed the Mexicans with open arms. They are now the majority of the population there. We had to build a new school to accommodate the influx of Mexican students.

We eventually sold our home at a loss and moved because we were not safe in our own home and couldn't enjoy our lives because of threatening gestures made at us when we sat in our fenced-in yard in the evenings. So here we are starting over again at the ages of 67 and 69. Although retired my husband now has to work to make ends meet. It just makes me sad. Sincerely, Dollie

I wrote to you several years ago about my grand child not being able to attend her community's public elementary school because children were being transported from Mexico to the school--as with many California schools. English is secondary in this school and any child that does not speak Spanish or look Hispanic is tormented by the Mexican majority. It has not improved with time and most people in the small community have their children in charter home schooling which seems to be the trend all over California. Our children cannot go to the schools we support with our taxes because of discrimination from illegal aliens who have taken control of our public schools.

This is just one of the problems confronting Americans because of the terrible policies of our elected officials. I have a question for you. I have agreed with what you write on this subject but what I cannot understand is, most Americans can see how destructive the Kennedy bill would be to our Country, so why can't American elected officials figure this out? Thank you, Sharon

I need to alert you to a problem. I am a medical doctor. Although your articles are incredibly appreciated, truthful and accurate, there is one point, and perhaps one the most important issues regarding illegal immigration, that is not emphasized enough, in my estimation.

What I am about to say may shock you, but I know this to be the truth, coming from very reliable sources, as well as my own treatment records and experiences. As these sources have been my friends and patients for many years, I know their word and honor to be above reproach. As they are also typical American citizens, they have asked me not to divulge their identities.

As you state in your articles, a good portion of the illegals are working at our meat packing plants. They carry massive quantities of horrendous diseases, and are not being checked or treated! Some are even motivated by their condition to come here for treatment, which may not immediately be forthcoming. Most, if not all, are from humble beginnings, and have little or no regard for elementary and basic personal hygiene.

They handle and breathe all over our raw meat, which is one of the finest petri dishes or bacterial growing mediums known to man. Many bacteria and viruses are not killed at the temperatures that some Americans prepare their meat. Their employers are looking for reduced expenses by hiring them in the first place, and are not investing the money to clean them up. Many of these "guest workers" will not wash their hands when returning from the rest rooms!

After handling their infected, oozing, and diseased genitals (sorry), some come back to work and handle our raw meat, which becomes warm during processing and packaging. Look at the increased rates of communicable and contagious diseases over recent years, and compare it with the percent rate of growth of previous years.

Consider the increase of TB and other non-directly based diseases, as many are making resurgence. Based on my personal experience alone, I will no longer allow any meat to enter our home, and only fish caught and handled here by locals we know. We also buy and use special food-grade detergent to clean all of our fruits and vegetables. Besides the illegal meat packers, much of our fruit and vegetables are also handled by these workers as you know. I drive past fields of migrant Mexican workers in Homestead (South Florida) and witness the "hired hands" using the field as their latrine routinely.

Although this issue is seemingly not as grave, there are still huge consequences to be considered that are not. Ask someone who works at a fast-food restaurant how well, if at all, the raw salad materials are being washed before being assembled, packaged, and presented. Anyone who feels the need to frequent one of these restaurants, and chooses the salad for health reasons is still at risk.

When politicians and business place their need, greed, and love of money, above their fellow man, and give preference to the illegals over their citizens, only God knows what the ultimate, unintended, and unpredicted consequences will be. The horrifying fact is, that while Bush is working for his one world government, the Mexicans are working for "Reconquista," and we the people, the earners, the taxpayers, and the majority, have to pay, suffer, and die, for their illicit, immoral, and evil agendas, and we will, as we have!

Our politicians simply cannot and will not protect and represent us, and the illegals as well, due to the large non-negotiable conflict of interest. One group is going to win, and the other is going to lose, and lose large. God help us! A medical doctor in Florida

I've been reading your papers on the coming 100 million Americans we can't afford to add to our load, and your presentation on all aspects of this problem is terrific, save one. I am also a researcher, and fully cognizant that global warming is real and the potential for catastrophic climate change is imminent.

The basic problem of this disaster, along with every other potential human-caused disaster from depleted fisheries, to peak oil, to the loss of wildlife habitat, and more, is too many people. Granted that immigration will continue to overpopulate an already overpopulated country, it seems that attacking immigration is pointless, when the real problem, everywhere, is too many births.

How do we stop people from having any more kids? This is the core problem. And since it's unlikely this taboo can be successfully dealt with because of the genetic push by humans (as all life) to procreate, I wonder why you waste your very good breath trying to stop the tsunami which cannot be stopped? More appropriate is to start building lifeboats and prepare for the population crash, certain to come, don't you think?

The Post Carbon Institute, Community Solutions, various Permaculture groups, and others with similar thinking, counsel us to dig in and build local community enclaves where energy is used wisely, travel distances are short, food is produced locally and all manufacturing is as low-tech as we can manage. Thank you.

"Multiculturalism's goal is not to teach about other cultures, but to promote – by means of distortions and half-truths – the notion that non-Western cultures are as good as, if not better than, Western culture.

Far from 'broadening' the curriculum, what multiculturalism seeks is to diminish the value of Western culture in the minds of students.

But, given all the facts, the objective excellence of Western culture is apparent, so multiculturalists must artificially elevate other cultures and depreciate the West." Elan Journo of the Ayn Rand Institute (Aug 2007)

I wish I had the ability to help you and all the people that have gotten into this situation... I get so angry when I know we can simply stop all the problems by just not electing agian those elected that have let it get this bad but yet they get right back in and let Americans down time and time again
