our tax dollars hard at work sponsoring a special Math and Science camp for 8th and 9th graders from "Casa de la RAZA" (House of the RACE)...guess that tax money isn't open for ALL AMERICANS in that area...only the "latino" kids from Casa de la RAZA.......

Santa Barbara Police Chief Cam Sanchez was at La Casa de la Raza, a non-profit community center, on Tuesday to congratulate the 42 students who are completing the College Readiness Academy by the end of this week.

A five-week summer program targeted to students entering the 8th and 9th grades, the College Readiness Academy requires students to complete an application similar to one they might send in when trying to get into college later in life. A total of 45 students, the majority of which were Latino, were accepted to the Academy this summer. The program is a result of a partnership between La Casa de la Raza and UCSB’s Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) program. The main focus of the five weeks is algebra, a pivotal subject for kids heading into high school and eventually college. The students start at algebra or pre-algebra, depending on their background, and move on to a MESA class and a college and career readiness class. These aim not only help prepare the students for high school but also to help them figure out what it is they want to study in college and do for a living.

We the American tax payers are obviously not being represented by our govenrnemt because we the people would never be doling out our hard eatned tax dollaors for education, health care, welfare, and projects to benefit illegals and their criminal off-spring!

So non-latino students are accepted too? How many? What criteria is used for acceptance? Are these students US citizens?
It can't be a "community" center if it discriminates against students of other ethnicities.

Actually, I'd like to see a "white" person go and try to enter the program. When they say "no, you're white, not hispanic", they should respond "but I can't be blamed for my ancestors were ... you can't blame the CHILD for the parents' actions. It's not MY fault my mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, etc, didn't get involved with a spanish person!"

Thank you legalatina! There are so many Latinos here illegally that it is smearing the legal population with the same brush. Everyone here legally should be outraged that the illegals are slamming their ethnicity with this crap about amnesty for everyone.
