A group of protesters against illegal aliens demanded action Wednesday at the State Capitol. They are angry lawmakers killed the 16 proposed bills targetting illegal immigrants in Mississippi.

The last bill died in the House Tuesday. It would have prohibited undocumented students from attending in-state colleges. Another addressed illegal aliens doing contruction work under state contracts.

The protestors want Governor Haley Barbour to reintroduce the legislation during a special session. John Hall says, "It's a start. We're not going to stop until we see action from our legislators. We're not going to stop until we see the governor enforce the laws that already do exist."

The immigrant rights group, MIRA, opposes the legislation, calling it "Racist" and "Anti-latino."

Federal laws already address illegal aliens, but there are currently no state laws on the books.

Between 60 and 90 thousand illegal immigrants are estimated in the state of Mississippi
