A U.S. District Judge on Friday sentenced an illegal immigrant who was living in Wilmington to 10 years in prison on drug charges.

Alejandro Garcia-Hernandez, 36, pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Does anyone have any good ideas about how we can get these IAs to pay the taxpayers back for their incarceration costs? That is, until the wall gets built?

In my opinion, we should make them work instead of working out at the prison gym. Don't we have some roads that need to be fixed, a fence that needs to be built?

Community service to work off the expenses of their investigation and prosecution. Credit given at the rate of minimum wage, with no cash payment at the end and deportation.
