Radio hosts rally activists against illegal immigration

Apr 22, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) -

A group of radio talk show personalities from across the country are kicking off a week of lobbying against illegal immigration in Congress by rallying across from the White House today.
Organizers hope the radio hosts will galvanize many groups into a potent force against illegal immigration. Many area residents have raised concerns in places like Herndon and Gaithersburg about job centers for day laborers, who are mostly immigrants.

Today's organizers say they plan to focus on three issues: improving border security, opposing amnesty for immigrants living illegally in the country and enforcing federal laws against the hiring of illegal immigrants.
