Sixteen illegal aliens were arrested in Pittsburgh and another in Sharpsburg during a statewide roundup last week, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Monday.
The four-day roundup, which began April 2, resulted in the arrests of 61 fugitives, criminals and illegal aliens throughout the state, ICE spokeswoman Ernestine Fobbs said. The raids took place in Western Pennsylvania and in Berks and Montgomery counties.

Two of those arrested in Pittsburgh were wanted on outstanding motor vehicle charges, a third was wanted for a sex crime and a fourth for being a deported alien who illegally re-entered the country, Fobbs said. Since the arrests, it was learned that three others were deported who illegally re-entered the country.
