- In Jail, One Man Said He Saw Reyka's Murderer
Henry Is Being Held At The Krome Detention Center
MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) ― Det. Chris Reyka of the Broward Sheriff's Office was murdered in August. A reward of $267,000 has been offered to find the killer, and more than 1,200 people called in with tips. Dwayne Henry, 26, with a long police record, sits in jail awaiting deportation to Jamaica, despite claiming to have valuable information on the shooter.

Henry's girlfriend says he told police the shooter was white or light-skinned Hispanic. She claims they were both together in the parking lot on that fateful night. His attorney, Regina Morales, said that he was in the Walgreens parking lot when the shooting happened.

"He told me that the guy came out of the car, and that he pointed his gun at the officer, shot him. He saw the glass from the specs of the gun," said his girlfriend, who didn't want CBS4 to use her real name.

She says she called 911, and he ran inside the store for help.

But the night of the shooting, Henry said he feared he'd be turned over to immigration officials, so he gave a fake name - and didn't mention he saw the killer. He says he was hesitant to get involved. But weeks following the murder, he met with investigators.
Dwayne and his girlfriend say when police couldn't find the suspect, they arrested him. She has since miscarried her baby.

She says police told him they would turn a blind eye to his criminal record and illegal immigrant status. They were even given visa applications to rectify his status. But apparently this was not a promise.

Police apparently told him they didn't believe his testimony to be credible and believe he was holding back on something.

Henry now awaits deportation to Jamaica
