Aron Herrera-Juarez, 32, a native of Guatemala, has been sentenced in U.S. District Court here to 24 months imprisonment for producing false identity documents.
U.S. District Judge R. Leon Jordan imposed the sentence on Herrera-Juarez, who resided in Morristown, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office.
The sentence imposed on Thursday was the result of a guilty plea to one count of production of false identification documents and one count of forgery of identification documents, in violation of federal law.
In addition to imprisonment, Herrera-Juarez was sentenced to serve three years supervised release, pay a $200 special assessment, and forfeit $2,040.
Herrera-Juarez will be deported upon the completion of his term of imprisonment. Should he re-enter the United States, Herrera-Juarez will be charged with an aggravated felony, subjecting him to enhanced penalities, prosecutors said.
"From October 2005 through March 2008, Herrera-Juarez manufactured more than 200 false identification documents which were used by aliens to obtain employment in the United States," the news release said.
The conviction was the result of an investigation by the Morristown Police Department Detective Division and the FBI, according to the release.
