HORSHAM, Pa. -- A Burlington County man has admitted to taking part in a conspiracy to employ illegal immigrants at a car-wash company. Nicholas Sama, 50, of Tabernacle, a regional manager for Car Care of Horsham, Pa., pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the government, harbor illegal aliens and commit identity theft, officials said Thursday.

Car Care also pleaded guilty to the charge, saying the scheme operated at its Super Bright Car Wash outlets from 2000 through March 2006. Illegal immigrants were given false names and a way to cash checks without identification, said the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Car Care was ordered to pay a fine of $100,000 and to forfeit $500,000 to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
