Happy New Year to illegal immigrants, members of Congress who let them stay
December 31, 2007
I'd like to wish a Happy New Year to 12,000,535 people. That's one greeting for each of the 12 million illegal immigrants living in my country. And one for each member of Congress who has allowed them, contrary to the desire of the people, to continue coming in by the thousands.
Even after seven months of marriage, I spent Christmas away from my country, my home, my family and my friends because my wife has not yet received permission to enter the United States. And I would like to also wish a Happy New Year to the 535 members of Congress for putting the interests of big business and foreign nationals above those of real Americans.

Happy New Year to you Patrick! You are a true American. My prayers are with you and your wife that you can bring her home soon. I will keep fighting for those who desire to enter the United States lawfully and against those who invade our country illegally.

Legal Immigrant Silence
The only thing I see in the mainstream media is that legal immigrants feel that people who oppose illegal immigrants are racists and bigots. I know this isn't the feeling of all legal immigrants, but they've unfortunately allowed their cause to be tied to the cause of illegal immigrants.
If legal immigrants ever severed the ties of political unity with illegal immigration, things would change a lot sooner. Imagine it. Waiting for paperwork, paying the expenses, missing family to know that America seems perfectly willing to allow someone like Patrick to wait years for unity with his family, but will allow someone who enters the country illegally to pay a fine and be an American.
Supporters of illegal immigration were smart to intertwine legal and illegal immigration. It's been THE single smartest move they've ever made. Who opposes immigration? No one.
Allowing supporters of illegal immigration to intertwine legal and illegal immigration has been one of the worst things legal immigration supporters could have done.

The anti illegal feelings are there and in the newspaper blogs in South Florida you see the anger. In fact many legal Hispanics are very much against them. The comments are strong that I can't even post many of them. Any time there is an accident on a farm, or construction site or any other job typically done by an illegal or one even being hit and killed by a car you will see comments saying if the person had not come here illegally they would still be alive. Many Cubans are really beginning to jump on our side as the illegals are making them look bad. They are waking up to the real situation as many anti Cuban comments made on the Miami Herald's blogs on Cubans making land really describe the illegals more that most Cubans.
