19 former poultry workers plead guilty to misusing social security numbers
TYLER, Texas (AP) - Nineteen former Pilgrim's Pride poultry workers arrested in a raid targeting illegal immigrants -- pleaded guilty today.
They pleaded guilty in federal court in Tyler to misuse of a Social Security number and were sentenced to time served. All have been turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.
The workers were employed by Pittsburg and Texas-based Pilgrim's Pride at its Mount Pleasant plant.
Another former worker arrested earlier in an investigation of Pilgrim's Pride employees also pleaded guilty.
German Yepez-Guzman was sentenced to time served on a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud in connection with identification documents.
Evidence indicated Yepez-Guman was part of a group that sold false identification documents to illegal immigrants.
Federal agents in April raided Pilgrim's Pride units in five states.

Time served.......3 months? That's ludicrous for the workers who were arrested, it is totally UNACCEPTABLE for this:

19 Former
I would bet that these workers are back to work within weeks and that the German resumes his "service to the illegal community"

I'd have no problem with non-violent illegals being deported with time served IF all their assets and monies were seized prior to deportation. Just let them keep a small allowance to last for a month or so when they get back to their home country. I don't want to fill up our jails with them and keep providing food and healthcare. Violent offenders however need to get the max sentence AND have their assets seized.
They came to fill their wallets, let's hit them where it hurts. That would be a deterrent as well.
