    Ted Nugent denies immigrant reference

    Ted Nugent denies immigrant reference
WACO, Texas - Ted Nugent has denied reports that he made offensive remarks about non-English speakers during his performance at Gov. Rick Perry's inaugural ball.
In a guest column in Thursday's Waco Tribune-Herald, Nugent said allegations made by some people who attended the Jan. 16 ball were "pure, unadulterated lies."

"In total defiance to the vicious lies and hateful allegations of `racism' leveled at me by irresponsible, unprofessional and downright goofy media punks, I never said a word about immigration or language, specifically not the alleged slam against `illegal immigrants' or `non-English-speaking' anyone," the outspoken 58-year-old rocker wrote.

Nugent, a hunting and guns-rights advocate, wrote that he will recruit more National Rifle Association members, provide hunting trips for needy children and wounded soldiers and their families, and fight the war on drugs and drunken driving.

"I will intensify my fight for a united America by demanding all Americans speak English," he wrote.

Nugent, who lives in Waco, said he has collaborated with musicians of diverse ethnicity, has dedicated his albums to "many of my revered black heroes" including James Brown, and is not a racist.

Never look at another flag. Remember, that behind Government, there is your country, and that you belong to her as you do belong to your own mother. Stand by her as you would stand by your own mother

That made me laugh! Good for Ted! He's right, a common language unifies people.

I can understand how folks could tend to write off Ted Nugent as a crazed, boastful and arrogant has-been rocker. I, myself, am not a huge fan of his "if it is wild, and can be eaten, kill it" mantra. That said, he was a guest on a radio program I listened to last week.. and he blew me away with his razor sharp intellect and savvy political insight.

That said, I do wish he would clearly state where he stands on illegal immigration, the Super Highway his buddy Rick Perry is cheerleading, and his veiws on the "new and improved" government" eminent domain land seizure laws.

Then again, I ask myself, why would I be interested in the veiws of multi-millionaires who will NEVER understand how hard it is for American and legal citizens to feed their own families today (and tomorrow).

Believe it or not, my Mom did some gun rallies with Ted back in the '90s when the gun-grabbers were feeling their oats under the Clinton regime. She and Ted really hit it off. I think that he liked the idea of a grandmother with a "Gun Control Means Using Both Hands" bumper sticker on her car.

Ted is a Detroit home boy. He lived in Jackson, Mi for years and as far as I know he still has his ranch there. He lives in Waco, TX now. I used to listen to his radio show everyday back in Michigan. Obviously an avid hunter and gun rights defender. I've always heard him support the military.......but not always the ways of the government. He's a bit of an egotist but most people of some fame are. He did a lot of work with kids at his Kid Kamp......mostly poor inner city kids would go to his ranch in the summer for some good outdoor activities. He always preached not to drink or do drugs, or put bad things into your body in general. Despite what people might think Ted was never a drug user. He had a different addiction. I don't know exactly what his illegal immigration views are but knowing he always stressed abiding by the law coupled with his statement about speaking english.......well that gives me the impression he's probably against it. He used to be a regular nemesis of Bill Maher's on TV.....I think the show was called "Politically Incorrect"?

He's the Motor City Madman and a bit radical but I'm with greyparrot; I'd love it if he came out on this issue. The man has abounding energy and he's no dummy and he's like an old dog with a bone.....if he thinks he's right he won't let go. Just like he is on defending gun rights.
