Texas appeals injunction on driver's license rules
Texas appeals injunction on driver's license rules

DALLAS — The Texas Department of Public Safety is appealing a ruling that blocks the enforcement of new rules preventing some immigrants from getting drivers' licenses and identification cards.
The state filed notice Friday to appeal the temporary injunction issued one day earlier. The state's action allows the rules adopted last year to remain in effect.
A judge had ruled that the agency overstepped its authority when it required foreign nationals to have visas valid for more than year when they apply for licenses or cards.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund had sued DPS on behalf of five people who have work visas and a Texas landscaping business that hires seasonal workers through a federal program.

Hope the DPS pulls this one out. Then that idiotic judge needs to be voted out.
