State illegal immigration proposals draw crowd

LINCOLN …#8221; A lawmaker trying to curb illegal immigration assured fellow senators Wednesday that his bill wouldn’t keep children of illegal immigrants from paying the in-state college tuition rate.

It appears to be a compromise, after a similar immigration plan from Republican Gov. Dave Heineman fizzled last year because it would have overturned the law that extends the less expensive tuition to some children of illegal immigrants.

If your parents are not citizens you do not get in-state tuition until your 24 years old.
To get in-state tuition under the law, illegal immigrants must first graduate from a Nebraska high school and also must be pursuing, or promise to pursue, legal status. Also required is residency in the state for at least three years.
These are illegals, not anchor babies. (Anchor babies should have to wait until they are 24 to get in-state due to parental status.)

None of them should get in-state tuition! Not a single one. I read somewhere that when an American parent sends their child to another state for college, a portion of the out-of-state tuition that American parent pays goes to supplement the reduced rates these invaders get! Imagine that....American parents who are having a difficult time financially sending their American kids to ANY college get the "honor" of working harder and doing without more to educate these people who shouldn't even be in our nation...

Why should the American tax payers have to pay for illegals?

The only thing illegals have earned is a good swift kick in the butt and a ride to a bus to take them to their country of birth. Enough.

It would require that state and local agencies verify the legal status of anyone trying to collect public benefits, including food stamps, unemployment, public housing, welfare and retirement.

Critics say immigrants already are prohibited under a 1996 federal law from receiving most state benefits.
There's only one problem with this - the illegals collect benefits on behalf of their anchor baby U.S. citizens.
