Members of Eastern European prostitution ring sentenced in federal court

ORLANDO, Fla. — Six members of an Eastern European prostitution ring were sentenced to prison Thursday following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, a central Florida task force.

According to the indictment and evidence presented at trial, a number of aliens worked together in a commercial sex business. They provided sexual services for money in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan and Massachusetts. The individuals were in the country illegally and were not authorized to work during the time periods alleged in the indictment.

Tatiana Belinschi, 26, of Moldova, was sentenced to 16 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Alexandr Postica, 25, of Moldova, was sentenced to 15 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Aleksandra Liubina, 24, Natalia Fedorova, 24, and Saida Babaeva, 29, all of Russia, and Alina Piadko, 25, of Ukraine, were sentenced to time served followed by one year of supervised release.

Roman Caraiman, 24, of Moldova, fled the country and remains a fugitive. Any information about his whereabouts should be communicated to HSI through its toll-free hotline at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or its online tip form.

Law enforcement agencies in Georgia, Ohio, Massachusetts and other jurisdictions in Florida also participated in this investigation.
