LAS CRUCES — Lt. Gov. Diane Denish plans to join New Mexico National Guard General Kenneth Montoya, Cultural Affairs Secretary Stuart Ashman, and Col. Richard A. Clark Jr. of the Guard's Counter Drug program to tour communities along the state's border with Mexico today.

After arriving at the Las Cruces International Airport at 10 a.m., the group will be briefed on a variety of counter-drug efforts. At 12:45 p.m., they'll board a counter-drug helicopter for a fly-over tour and Ground Surveillance System briefings at Smeyer Hill.

At 2:30 p.m., they will arrive at the U.S. Border Patrol Station in Deming, N.M., for a briefing on the Remote Video Surveillance System.
