Giffords sustains border offensive

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords doubled down on her demands for the National Guard to be ordered to the Arizona-Mexico border, releasing a letter to Pres. Obama and Janet Napolitano on the subject today.

In the letter she put her demand in the context of the murder of rancher Rob Krentz. "We cannot let his murder pass without taking all necessary action to ensure that no more such deaths take place in this border community" she said in the letter.

She also endorsed an 18-point border plan by the Arizona Cattlemen's Association this week, including a copy of it in her letter to the president and the Secretary of Homeland Security. "After closely reviewing the association’s plan, I believe it spells out a comprehensive and thoughtful list of solutions that deserve serious consideration by your administration," she wrote.

Good for her. Every member of Congress should write the President and demand troops on the borders and hold up on all appropriations until adequate troops are on the US borders to protect our nation from foreign aggression.
