Hearing reset in Acambaro case A change-of-plea hearing for four restaurant operators charged with harboring illegal aliens has been rescheduled for Aug. 7. Arturo Reyes Jr., 35, and wife Silvia Reyes, 36, of Rogers; Armando Reyes, 33, of Lowell; and Lucila Huaracha, 33, are charged in U. S. District Court in Fayetteville with harboring illegal aliens for financial gain. The four pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from December raids on a string of Acambaro Mexican Restaurants and Garcia’s Distribution Company. They were among 23 suspected illegal aliens arrested in the raids. — ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Big load of cocaine seized; driver held ALMA — Arkansas Highway Police seized an estimated 440 pounds of cocaine Friday during an inspection of a tractor-trailer, according to an Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department news release. Inspectors discovered the cocaine in the rig at the highway police station on eastbound Interstate 40 in Alma, according to the release. The driver, Iver Lopez, 54, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release states. He is being held at the Crawford County jail and will be arraigned Wednesday, according to the release. Highway Police Chief Ron Burks said in the release that it was the largest discovery of illegal drugs by his agency this year and one of the largest in its history in terms of quantity. The truck was en route from Bakersfield, Calif., to Elkton, Md., according to the release.
