Dems See Immigration as Key to some Battlegrounds

These scoundrels! Democrats are traitors if they cave-in to illegals instead of protecting American citizens. This situation is their fault as much as the Republicans! None of them did their duty to control illegal immigration!

Dems see immigration as key to some battlegrounds

Democrats will make immigration reform a prominent discussion at their convention in Denver, hoping to capitalize on anger that many Hispanic voters feel toward GOP support of strict curbs on immigration.

Democrats believe that Hispanic voters will play a pivotal role in battleground states such as Colorado, Florida, Nevada and New Mexico, which President Bush won in 2004 in part because of a stronger-than-expected performance among Hispanic voters.

This is at the expense of alienating a lot of American voters. Do they even remember us blowing out the Congressional switchboard?

Now are these legal Hispanic voters or the illegal Hispanic voters? A lot of legal Hispanic voters I have spoken with are completely disgusted by this country getting overrun by uneducated peasants and Hispanic gangs. And these are US citizens from Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil that came in years ago, complying with immigration law in this country, and some have said the most poignant memory they have is becoming citizens.
I just shudder whenever one of these pro-illegal groups goes out to register new voters.

Democrats will attempt to send a clear message of their support for creating a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants at their convention in Denver.
I HOPE AMERICA WAKES UP WHEN THEY HEAR WHAT THE DEMOCRATS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT "PATHWAYS" TO CITIZENSHIP. It is so beyond believable that this is happening. IMO the Democrats are dividing the entire country with their pro-illegal stand. LOSERS.

I used to be a democrat, I don't know what's worse. All I know is there are more republicans out there denouncing amnesty. I might vote for Mccain if he has Romney as VP.

So they want to capture the 4% of the overall electorate (50% of Hispanic voters) who are angry about immigration enforcement, while at the same time pissing off the 80% of the electorate who support enforcement. I guess the "Liberal Institute" does not teach math!!

They never learn. The vast majority of Americans still reject amnesty. Just ask Chris Cannon.

The reason the Republican President couldn't get through Comprehensive Immigration reform was becaus the President wanted Amnesty for millions of Illegals and the Republicans in Congress( with more than a little presuasion from the American Public) did not want Amnesty.
Yes Shad, You're right. We can't forget how hard Tancredo, Sessions, Hunter, and so many other Repubs fought against shamnesty from the Demorats. But if they have become weakened we won't have the strong ones to fight this monster.

All I know is there are more republicans out there denouncing amnesty.
Yes gemini282, they're our last hope unless some Demorats wake up. I just hope Americans are not lulled to sleep after all the partying they're having with these MSM campaigns. I guess we have to forget the presidential BS and pay attention to Congress.

Absolutely. And one key race is Sen. Elizabeth Dole. She's strong against amnesty and is in a tight race for reelection. The liberal, pro-amnesty Dems plan on spending millions to try to beat her. So please help her out if you can:
