NV: State illegal immigrant hiring law won’t work

State illegal immigrant hiring law won’t work
Nevada is told federal role preempts effort to fine employers
    Timothy Pratt

NOTE: Nevada AG bails out employers of illegal aliens to protect the hospitality and gaming industries!!! Infuriating!!!

An almost 6-month-old state law that calls for fining businesses employing illegal immigrants can’t be enforced, an official said Friday.

The reason: The state attorney general’s office says immigration is an issue for the federal government, not states. The law, AB 383, mostly focuses on combatting the trafficking of immigrants, but includes a provision for the Taxation Department to fine employers whom the federal government has proved were knowingly hiring undocumented workers.

The law took effect Oct. 1. Dino DiCianno, executive director of the Taxation Department, wrote the state attorney general Sept. 6, asking whether federal law preempted the provision. On March 3, Senior Deputy Attorney General Karen Dickerson replied that federal immigration law “expressly preempts state and local laws which impose criminal or civil sanctions on employers who hire illegal immigrants, except through licensing and similar laws.â€

    Laws do work

Another example of our state failing to do what we want and need. DMV got the Real I.D enforcement push back to something like 2014. This state has some dirty politics and I hope these people get exposed , put in jail and out of work.
Thanks for the article, I missed it.
<div>Do your job and enforce the law!
Many thanks to the young that have served our country, and to those of you that have lost, we all owe you, thank you</div>

I was in Las Vegas last year and it looked like Tijuana, except with more lights. I suspect they are swarming to the hospitality industry like flys and they are being hired with no questions asked.

Hence, Harry Reids refusal to do anything about illegal immigration in his home state. He is owned by the powers that be in that state who want that cheap labor.
