TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A service and reception is planned at the Tucson Pauper's Field at Evergreen Cemetery to honor illegal immigrants who have died in Arizona's desert.

The service is organized by Tucson's faith community and is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Arizona Daily Star reports the event is called "Remember the Migrant." It is the second straight year for the event.

The bodies of 182 illegal border crossers were recovered in the recently completed fiscal year 2011 in Arizona - the fewest since fiscal 2003 but still within range of the average yearly tally of the last decade.

Since 2001, nearly 2,160 men, women and children have been found dead after trying to cross illegally into the United States through Arizona's desert.
