Border Patrol agents seize pot, meth from vehicles

Border Patrol agents confiscated marijuana and methamphetamine in two separate seizures from vehicles in Fallbrook and Pine Valley Wednesday.
The first seizure occurred about 4 p.m. at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Pine Valley, when a dog signaled there might be drugs inside a Mazda MX6, according to authorities. An inspection of the vehicle revealed 39 bundles of marijuana in the door and rear side panels, weighing about 90 pounds and with an estimated street value of $73,000, authorities said.



AdvertisementThe second seizure occurred about 10:45 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near the Mission Road exit in Fallbrook. Agents stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe and discovered two packages of methamphetamine, weighing about 2.2 pounds and with a street value of $53,000 authorities said.
Four people were arrested and face drug smuggling charges, authorities said.
