On Wednesday, Salt Lake City Bishop John C. Wester told reporters: “It is our view, and that of others, that the American public, including the Catholic and other faith communities, want a humane and comprehensive solution to the problems which beset our immigration system, and they want Congress to address this issue.â€

    The Catholic Church

The Catholic Church most certainly does not speak for me, or for most Americans regarding Illegal Immigration, thank god...
They are as corrupt as the Federal Government with special interest and money.

    chruches on immigration legislation

Here is an excerpt from a 8500 word article I recently wrote on the immigration/jobs/out-of-control government issue(s). This is about the commenting of ministers on the amnesty proposal.

I grew up as a Catholic; however, I disagree with recent statements made by segments of the Catholic Church. The US Catholic Bishops came out in favor of the amnesty bill and opposed to the Arizona law. The Catholic Knight Blog said the US should issue more work visas to Mexicans. It sounds like the Bishops did not read the new law. It also sounds like many of the Catholic Church's hierarchy do not understand or care about our immigration, border, crime, and jobs crises. How can anybody possibly criticize this country’s immigration policies as too restrictive? We have historically embraced more immigrants than any other country on earth. We accept hundreds of thousands of refugees each year (over 600 thousand last year). According to Wikipedia, "... as of 2006, the US accepts more legal immigrants as permanent residents than all the other countries in the world combined." (Good sites for numbers and information are immigrationcounters.com and ALIPAC. com.) In addition, they should not have commented on the issue because tax-exempt religious organizations are prohibited from participation in our politics by IRS regulations. (Bill Clinton used to make political remarks from the pulpit.) In violation of these regulations, Congress just took testimony from a Catholic Priest and Baptist Minister who support amnesty. Even if IRS regulations are ignored, ministers should refrain from comment on the issue because they have conflicts of interest; they want to keep illegal immigrant church members and receive their donations. (Incidentally, these two preachers had no solutions for the problematic mechanics of the amnesty law; they just sheepishly deflected those questions back at the Republicans that asked them.) Finally, please excuse my cynicism, but I do not see millions of illegal immigrants living in the Vatican City.

When church turns lobbyist it needs to be taxed. Period.

It is no longer a separate and sacrosanct entity, but just another political mouth. And no, I don't give a rat's behind what church, what sect, what faith, whatever.... They are there for souls (in theory, at least), not to write laws, *that* privilege/right was expressly denied/surrendered when they were given exemption from taxes.
I don't care who you are, how you got here, what color you are, what language/dialect you speak... If you didn't get here legally then you don't belong here. Period.

I have been biting my tongue for years on the catholic church. I believe everyone has a right to go to what ever church they want but now it is getting ridiculous with the catholic church. In my opinion they are the most corrupt and evil religion in the world now. I say that because they have so many followers and they think nothing of tossing their hat in the political arena unlike other religions. Their priest's have molested children while the "higher ups" looked away. What can be more evil?

    Luke 17:2
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

    Mark 9:42
And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

    Matthew 18:6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

In other words, it would be better for them to commit suicide than to hurt a child.

I ask, how many storys have we heard about people in authority in the catholic church doing these dispicible things?

WHEN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TALKS, MY EARS CLOSE!!!!!!
