Vegas police seek killer of immigrant teen



LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police say they haven't identified any suspects yet in the slaying of an immigrant teenager whose body was found in a Las Vegas drainage wash with a fatal gunshot to the head.

Family members say 16-year-old Clemente Carlos Garcia-Benitez disappeared last Saturday night.

Police say his body was found Monday morning in a ditch behind a shopping center several blocks east of downtown Las Vegas.

Homicide investigators think the slaying might be gang-related, but family members say they don't think so.

His family says Garcia-Benitez arrived from Mexico about 2 1/2 years ago and attended middle school in Las Vegas.

Family members and the Mexican consulate in Las Vegas were trying to raise money to send his body home to Penjamo, in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

Never.....they are always "good boys".

The article talks about an immigrant...is the victim an immigrant or an illegal?

These days.....depending on the paper......sometimes they are all the same.

Doesn't take a brain child and better odds than Vegas if you want to bet.

I'm batting 100 for the most part. I do occationally get illegal mixed with anchor baby......but not often. Parents legal status 100%.
