(07/01/2009)Border Patrol agents seized over 19,953 pounds of marijuana valued at $15,972,288. Agents arrested 25 criminal aliens and 12 gang members. There were 8 rocking incidents.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions for two sex offenses involving a minor and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,261 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,008,800 and a 1986 Ford pickup near Arivaca, Arizona. While conducting patrol duties, agents encountered the abandoned pickup concealed in a wash. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 60 bundles of marijuana.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Albuquerque, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for homicide in the State of Alabama and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 69 pounds of marijuana valued at $55,088, a 1997 Nissan, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Ajo, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including convictions for rape and sodomy.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Douglas, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Calle 8 Sureno gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for attempted murder in the State of California and had been previously removed from the United States.

Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Gila Bend, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for child molestation in the State of Georgia and an active arrest warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,998 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,598,400, a 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself and the tractor-trailer for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search using the Z Backscatter X-ray revealed 62 bundles of marijuana hidden within cardboard bins of watermelon.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,399 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,118,800, a 2003 tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself and the tractor-trailer for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search using the Z Backscatter X-ray revealed 44 bundles of marijuana concealed within a load of empty plastic containers.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Santa Cruz, Arizona. The subject admitted to a prior conviction for murder in the State of Arizona and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. The subject admitted to being a member of the Reno Locotes Clique gang, a faction of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions for the sale and transportation of cocaine and burglary in the State of Nevada, and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions for sexual assault and sodomy, and was a registered sex offender in the State of Illinois. Records checks further revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureno gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for auto theft and had been previously removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 5,059 pounds of marijuana valued at $4,047,200, a 2004 tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Hebbronville, Texas. The subject presented himself and the tractor-trailer for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search revealed a compartment containing 205 cellophane-wrapped marijuana bundles.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,737 pounds of marijuana valued at $2,989,600, a 2003 tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself and the tractor-trailer for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search revealed the marijuana hidden within steel containers.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico and seized a Taurus .357 Magnum handgun near Menagers, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history to include aggravated assault and drug possession. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Naco, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for lewd or lascivious acts with a child and battery in the State of California. Records checks further revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject’s daughter notified agents that her father was lost in the desert and needed medical attention. Agents initiated a search of the area, located the subject, and rendered first aid for dehydration. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released into Border Patrol custody. Records checks revealed the subject was previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,182 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,745,600, a 1999 tractor-trailer, and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Sarita, Texas. The subjects presented themselves for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search of the trailer revealed 79 bundles of marijuana inside wooden crates.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Panama near Ajo, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Douglas, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was an aggravated felon with a prior conviction for sodomy in the State of Georgia. Records checks further revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 263 pounds of marijuana valued at $210,480, a loaded .45 caliber Kimber handgun, and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Agents encountered the subject while conducting patrol duties and subsequently found the handgun and marijuana concealed in nearby brush.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC, seized 1.6 grams of methamphetamine, two shotguns, two handguns, a taser, various knives, ammunition and 2002 Lincoln at the traffic checkpoint near Amado, Arizona. The subject and his passenger presented themselves for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A search revealed the narcotics and the weapons.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Barstow, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a criminal history and was the subject of an active arrest warrant for a felony sex offense in the State of California.

Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Tampa, Florida. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history to include resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, and a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The subject also admitted to being a member of the Folk Nation gang.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,082 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,665,600, a 2004 tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of India at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the tractor-trailer. A subsequent search of the trailer revealed 156 bundles of marijuana inside boxes of asparagus.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,903 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,522,720, a 1997 tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Sarita, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A subsequent search revealed the marijuana hidden between stacks of potatoes.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Sasabe, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was a registered sex offender convicted of a 3rd degree sex offense in the State of Maryland. Records checks further revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Amado, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Amado, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history to include a conviction for voluntary manslaughter in the State of California and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Benson, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for aggravated battery in the State of Illinois and had been previously removed from the United States. During processing, the subject also admitted to being a member of the Sureños gang.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Columbus, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history including a conviction for sexual assault in the State of Maryland. Records checks further revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Fabens, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 gang. Records checks revealed he had a criminal record and had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents reported that an illegal alien from Mexico assaulted an agent near Peñitas, Texas. As the agent attempted to arrest the subject, the illegal alien became combative and struck the agent. A struggle ensued and the agent effected the arrest without further incident.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Robles Junction, Arizona. During processing, the subject claimed he was robbed and assaulted by two armed bandits who took his food and money. The case was referred to local law enforcement authorities.
