Â*Â*Â*Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the motion to proceed to H.R. 1495 now be agreed to; that on Monday, May 14, at 3 p.m., the Senate begin consideration of the measure and the majority manager, Senator Boxer, then be recognized to offer an amendment.

sorry for the confusion ..THESE ARE SENATE CONVERSATIONS....i didn't want to edit the senate's conversation.... so i left 1495 in the article .it had several conversations that day (H1495, IRAQ WAR AND IMMIGRATION..
i wanted the following shown.... cloture APPEARS TO BE AGREED UPON BY ..BOTH PARTIES

So, reluctantly, but I think in anticipation of the greater good, the Republican leader and I have agreed it would be in the best interests of the Senate to put the cloture over on the immigration motion to proceed until Wednesday morning. Therefore, I will file cloture on Monday on the motion to proceed on immigration--not today.

Cloture (rule 22) limits debate to 30 hhours. Isn't that a crock. The Bushites don't want discussion.

The date on the Senate minutes you posted is Friday, May 11th. What appears to have transpired is the manuevering on S-1348 delayed debate on the bill H.R.1495 because there was not a majority (quorum=51 Senators or more) present and was documented by a quorum call of the role. That said, the motion was made to put forward debate on Monday, May 14th on H.R. 1495

Man you had me going for a minute there!!!!
I think you ruffled 2ndamendsis' feathers too.

Those minutes are over a week old and refer to the attempt at cloture on S-1348 that those "drunken sailors" had planned for Wednesday of last week, which has now been moved to Monday, May 21st.

    No News Here Folks!
