TUCSON - A Mexican man who was a disc jockey and program manager at a Spanish-language radio station in Tucson was detained by immigration authorities and expected to be deported because he is in the country illegally, authorities said Friday.

Jose Abel Castro-Lopez, 44, was detained Thursday at his home, said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Castro-Lopez gave false documents to his employer, Mack said. He had been deported twice and sneaked back into the country, Mack added.

Castro-Lopez, who was from Los Mochis in the western Mexican state of Sinaloa, had presented false documents to his employer to meet federal employment eligibility rules, Mack said.

Authorities determined that the broadcasting company that employed Castro-Lopez had followed employment rules and was unaware of his illegal status, Mack said.
