ICE Arrests Woman Accused of Falmouth Assault on MAGA Hat Wearing Man

"Unlawfully present citizen of Brazil" arrested Monday

A woman accused of assaulting a man wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat at a Falmouth Mexican restaurant has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

In a statement to Cape Cod Today, ICE public affairs officer John Monahan reports, “Deportation officers with ICE’s Fugitive Operations Team arrested Rosiane Santos, an unlawfully present citizen of Brazil, today near Falmouth, Massachusetts. Santos is currently facing local charges for assault and other offenses. She is presently in ICE custody and has been entered into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts.”

Rosiane Santos, age 41, was arrested by Falmouth Police on Friday, February 15th following an alleged assault on Bryton Turner, age 23, of Mashpee. Mr. Turner was wearing a red MAGA hat in Falmouth's Casa Vallarta restaurant.

In a viral video Mr. Turner made of the incident, Ms. Santos is observed hItting Mr. Turner's hat and yelling at him because of his hat. She reportedly struck out again at the victim in the presence of police officers.

The Howie Carr Show website reports that, after arresting Ms. Santos, Falmouth Police ran her fingerprints, contacted ICE and discovered she is in the country illegally. She reportedly came to the US on a tourist visa in 1994 and never left.

No further information is available at this time concerning Ms. Santos status with ICE. She is facing charges local charges including assault.
