Body Discovered Just North Of U.S./Mexico Line 07-18-2007 7:54 AM

(Campo, CA) -- Authorities have not yet identified a decomposed body found by a Border Patrol agent on a roadway just north of the U.S/Mexico line. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the discovery was made on Forrest Gate Road, in the Campo area, about 8 a.m. yesterday morning. The body is believed to be an illegal immigrant.

Unidentified man found in Fresno fatally shot

An unidentified man was found shot to death early Tuesday at an apartment complex on the 3200 block of West Ashlan Avenue in west-central Fresno, police reported.

The slaying was the city's 30th homicide this year, Fresno police Lt. Mark Salazar said.

The city had 22 killings at this time last year.

Officers discovered the man sprawled on the pavement in a carport.

Salazar said a dark-colored vehicle was seen driving through the complex after the shooting, but it is not known whether the vehicle is related to the slaying.
