MCSO detains 15 suspected illegal immigrants

PHOENIX - Authorities say they've detained more than a dozen suspected illegal immigrants after a traffic stop in Phoenix.

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies say a vehicle was stopped for speeding Monday afternoon in the area of Highway 87 and the Bush Highway.

Deputies say 15 suspected illegal immigrants were found inside the vehicle. They've all been turned over to federal immigration officials.

It isn't immediately clear where the immigrants came from or where they were headed.

I must be a bit confused, because I heard crime in Arizona had slowed and there are not many problems with criminal activities lately.
