TGP’s Lucian Wintrich will be hosting a talk at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The talk, which will focus on illegal immigration to the United States and the necessity of a border wall, will be preceded by the international premiere of his art film “Perils Of An Open Border” which deals with the same topic.

As of now, talk and screening will be open to the general public but prioritize the Young Republican chapter of the University of Illinois. Doors open at 6:30 and the event will take place on April 27th at 7PM EST.

Wintrich’s last speech at the University of Connecticut was cut short when a woman from a neighboring community college rushed his podium, stole his speech, and pandemonium broke out as protestors stormed the building.

Our immigration system has prioritized putting the needs of illegal immigrants over the needs of American citizens. For years, Mexico and other countries have taken advantage of America’s immigration system and non-existent border to export their crime and criminals. Ultimately, Mexico has done nothing to help solve this problem.

But the question is, “Why would they?” Every drug, weapon, and criminal that crosses the border is one less problem for Mexico, and one more problem for the United States. Is this really a problem for the United States though? Has our nation actually been negatively impacted by illegal immigration? The answer is a resounding YES.

Every immigrant that crosses into the United States illegally is a burden on American citizens. Every single year, U.S. taxpayers have been asked to pay hundreds of billions in healthcare, housing, education, justice enforcement, and welfare for illegal immigrants. According to FAIR, U.S. taxpayers pay approximately $135 billion annually to cover the costs of individuals who should have never been here in the first place.
