Suspected gang members are accused of threatening a Fremont teenager and throwing stones at his home Saturday night, Fremont police reported.

Sgt. Bob Buer said officers were called at 11:34 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 200 block of W. Jensen Street where 30-40 Hispanic men were accused of throwing rocks and pieces of cement at a home.

Buer said the residents told police that about five to 10 vehicles approached the home at 11 p.m. and threatened a teenage boy in the home. The teenager recognized three people and reported having been threatened by text message and phone call after talking to one of the suspect’s girlfriends.

Buer said the teenager reported that the people who came to the home were involved in a gang called Esco 13.

Anybody know anything about Esco 13?

What does graffiti mean for Fremont?

Drive around Fremont enough and you’re bound to find instances of gang graffiti.

But does that mean there are real gangs in Fremont?

Detective Matt Hultquist, who deals with gang intelligence for the Fremont Police Department, said gang graffiti can be the first signs of the existence of gangs.
