City Cops to Obama: We Don't Want to Enforce Broken Immigration System

In a recent White House meeting, President Obama and an eclectic group of administration officials, business and law enforcement leaders, former and current elected officials and other "stakeholders" discussed current prospects for comprehensive immigration reform, one of Obama's notable and still unfulfilled campaign promises.

According to official records of the gathering, big-city law enforcement leaders relayed their concerns that “without reform, enforcing federal immigration laws is a distraction from their important public safety and crime fighting mandates to keep their local communities safe.â€

Hey Cops! Listen up. You don't write the laws, you don't decide the laws, you enforce the laws. See, we've got your big city cop number ... we already know you want to "enforce" useless drug laws against blacks instead of enforce important and necessary immigration laws against illegal aliens.

I agree with your comments,

You are on the money again. I know you have been fighting this fight for a long time. Doesn't it curl your hair when they say=="It keeps the immigrants from coming to us and helping us find the bad guys for fear they will be deported."

In my words, it means they cannot do the job they were hired to do. Also how come we never hear"The criminals are mostly those who came here illegally with the others".

They bring their own customs. crime and criminals with them and our police forces join with them. The police are not looking at the big picture. Like the drug issue, they are only looking at how to get federal dollars. The health and well being of Americans comes last.

Am I old-fashioned or out of touch when I expect the police forces to uphold our laws and protect Americans?-- from anyone?
